Plans to restore and redevelop the Victorian pier on Southampton Water have taken a step forward. The Blue Funnel Ferries Operator has gifted the pier to the Hythe Pier Heritage Association Charity which plans to raise £3m to restore it.
On BBC South Today, Association chairman Peter King said the pier now has a "New Future". Television historian Dan Snow is among those who have supported the campaign to save the pier, describing it as a "national treasure".
To celebrate the real prospect of a “New Future” a panoramic vibrant picture of Dawn breaking in full colour can be seen, lighting up the Pier, the Train and Ferry goers. From the original picture, high quality metre long, ready to hang canvas copies, are now available to purchase at amazing prices. Each picture contributes over 50% for the Charity - An excellent way to give, coupled with a lasting nostalgic way to enjoy the ‘The New Dawn for Hythe Pier’.
You may have seen the picture displayed in several Marina homes, local businesses and surgeries and even as far away as in the USA.
