History of the Marina

Hythe Marina Village was the first marina village to be built in the UK and modelled on the world famous Port Grimaud in Provence France.

The village is made up of a series of courts yards that has helped build our strong sense of local community.

The marina has a broad collection of housing styles from apartments through to large detached houses which hang over the waterways. Most houses have berths at the end of the garden making your boating as convenient as possible. The lock is manned 24hours 360 days a year and is capable of accepting boats of up to 17m by 7.8m beam.

The original inspiration for the marina has been carefully maintained and is undergoing a 3 year programme of refurbishment. The current programme of modernisation has been helped by thoughtful planning direction from the New Forest District Council
